Misao turned sharply on the spot, holding Gin's tail with both hands and staring at the forest behind her. Oh, no, not a bear. Or gorilla. Or.. uuuhhh.. another bear. Just some random chuunin, wandering about. Misao ignored him, retracting her weapon and picking her puppet back up properly. She hadn't seen any creatures yet, asides from the odd rabbit or frog. Then again, she'd only been in the forest a few minutes, the dangerous ones were probably deeper inside.
As Misao traveled and the forest grew thicker, the creatures started getting larger and larger. None of them, however, were her target. She was sent to hunt only the biggest creatures, for food and for training. She had no idea whatsoever why she would accept such a dangerous mission, but here she was. Surrounding footsteps could be heard now, rather heavily. Thankfully, they weren't TOO heavy - going too deep into the forest could prove to be a very bad mistake, and Misao did not enjoy life-crippling injuries. They were just so sa-no, focus on the mission. There should be a creature big enough around here.. ah, there's a wolf. A pretty big one, at that. Nervously dashing up into the treetops, Misao twisted her lip reluctantly, then ran her palm over the kodachi. It hurt, but it would be best to have her arrays of summoning ninjutsu ready immediately, just in case. She then prepared Gin for combat, and brought her arms down, sending him hurtling towards the giant wolf.
Gin couldn't quite maneuver into the perfect stance for attack in time, but was still sufficiently positioned to punch the wolf square in the jaw, then cut into its throat. The creature howled in pain, bleeding. Misao grimaced - it wasn't a pleasant thing to see. She hoped she could finish it off painlessly.. but it seemed to have vanished into thin air. Looking around frantically, she saw the creature had dashed rapidly behind a tree. It was clearly impressive - the wound was already starting to heal - but not intelligent. It was still focusing on the puppet. Misao raised gin into a nearby bush, then carefully glided him out, trying to keep him out of the wolf's sight. It was too keen, however, and was quickly upon him. Frantically punching and slicing his sword, Misao tried to get him out of the wolf's jaw. There was an audible crack, and a loud, meaty sound. One of gin's shoulder-analogues had been broken off, and his kodachi had been firmly planted into the wolf's chest.
Letting the pair of arms fall to the ground, Misao quickly shifted gin back from the wolf, then closer to herself, for heightened control. The wolf stumbled angrily, swiping its claws, just barely missing. Rushing directly at the wolf, then letting gin fall underneath, Misao flipped him, the kodachi raking into the monster's underside. It fell to the ground, the forest floor pooling with its blood. Misao anxiously retrieved Gin's segments as she sent word back to the village of the success.
