| Karasu Taiga
| This wasn't exactly what Taiga had in mind. He was dragging a makeshift sled of merchant's wares up a steep hill with a makeshift harness. Practically climbing his way up with the Merchant telling him to keep going. No amount of payment was worth this type of stress. It was good training. But he wished that merchant would shut the fuck up. The man was constantly saying things like "Faster!" and "Get going!" not to mention that he threatened not to pay.
Taiga thought back to how this began, a full large cart with four horses pulling it and a pleasant merchant who wanted nothing more than to move up to Tanzaku town for the festival. And start pawning his wares there with all of the other merchants. However at the first rest stop...
"Hey kid. Change the positions of the horses!" The merchant called. "They seem to be walking funny I think it's stressing them." Taiga of course complied. This was not unheard of and he'd helped hook the beasts up. It was then that a Highwayman dressed in black with a mask and bearing a sword approached.
"You shall relinquish your goods to me or your lives are forfeit." The man said in an accent so self-righteous Taiga almost thought he could see the stick coming out of the mans ass.
Fighting was of course what Taiga was here for and he engaged the Highwayman, his presence was unexpected but not surprising. However the merchant was spooked by the appearance of said highwayman and hid among the partially undone horses, his fumbling freed the horses causing them to scatter and run in many different directions as Taiga held his own against the highwayman causing him to flee since the advantage of surprise was now gone. But then again so were the horses.
That was the point at which Taiga had to start pulling the wagon himself. Not hard for a Shinobi as strong as he was, it was difficult for sure but the yoke was intact and using that.
How had the large, expensive wagon become destroyed? That happened the third day into what should have been a four day trip but was going to take six.
"It's gone." Taiga said looking at the washed out road down the mountain. "I need to go and attach safety cables to get us across without any problem." Sound reasoning from the genin, for sure.
"No we've already lost enough time because you're too slow!" He chortled angrily. "We push ahead unless there's clear danger! Go!" He demanded. Sitting practically haplessly atop the cart. It wasn't hard for Taiga to know that he wanted to make it safely. The worst he could do was at least keep the wagon upright. Right?
Taiga advanced, making sure that his feet were planted before making the next step and feeling the wagon slide with the pitch of the mountain, but Taiga kept a pace that made sure the wheels were moving. It was just then that something snapped, a branch that was perhaps holding the whole hillside in place. It dragged the wagon, Taiga and the merchant away. When all was said and done, half the merchandise was gone and the wagon was in tatters.
And that's how Taiga got into pulling the remains as a makeshift sled. He didn't bother even asking the Merchant anything. He just hoped that he'd keep any other stupid ideas in his head. The rest he could block out as background noise. Hopefully he'd get there without too many problems.
