B - Assassination Empty
PostSubject: B - Assassination   B - Assassination EmptyThu Jun 30, 2011 6:16 pm

Sonya

“So those are the orders, huh?” Sonya looked carefully over at Jirobou. Sure, she had killed people before, but she hadn't ever done a straight up assassination of an important official. This would be a first for her.

Jirobou nodded. “We're the only ones who can do it in time, since we're already here. We are to kill the Rain Daimyo and his companions before they make it back to Ame. Hopefully, but halting the message between Tani and Ame about their agreement, we can cut this off at the source, or at least buy us some time.”

“Will we be able to, though?” Sonya asked, glancing over at the village from her spot in the tree. It was night, the moon was out, and crickets were chirping. The Daimyo was supposed to be leaving tonight along with the Amekage look-alike and their two bodyguards. She and Jirobou were to leave no survivors. “We don't know how strong their bodyguards are.”

“In the shinobi world, that's life sometimes,” Jirobou said with a sigh. You won't always have reliable information about your enemy, but the situation is so dire that we can't wait to gain that information. From what I've been seeing form them, however, I do not believe they are above the level of jounin, and if they are jounin then they are not very experienced yet. They've been leaving holes in their defenses when guarding the Daimyo at night. They haven't even noticed us shadowing them yet. Hopefully, with the element of surprise we'll be able to succeed. The bodyguards should be our first targets, though. Take them out swiftly and silently, and then it's easy pickings. The Daimyo is a fat slob with no fighting experience, and the Amekage look-alike is just that, a look-alike. I wouldn't be surprised if he's never even held a kunai before.”

Sonya nodded. Jirobou was her superior, so she would have to trust him. They didn't really have another choice, anyway. It was all or nothing on this. They had to kill their targets. “Alright then, I'm ready to do this. What time will they be leaving?”

“Should be in the next few hours,” he said, keeping an eye on the village entrance. “We can only watch and wait, and be ready to strike when the opportunity presents itself.”

Two and a half hours went by before the village gates finally opened. The Amekage look-alike and the Rain Daimyo exited and began traveling down the path, while the two bodyguards took to the trees again, one on either side of the road. Sonya and Jirobou waited until they had moved a good distance away from the village, and then began following, as silently as possible.

For three hours, she and Jirobou shadowed the bodyguards, while keeping tabs on the other two in the road. They had to make sure they were plenty far away from Tani, so they wouldn't come across any unnecessary witnesses that would also have to be killed, and so their targets couldn't call for help. Jirobou was right about the bodyguards, though. They didn't seem to be picking up on the fact that they were being followed, which boded well.

Finally, Sonya glanced over at Jirobou. He nodded at her, the signal to strike. She already had a kunai drawn. Moving up to a high position over the bodyguards she was tailing, she kicked off one of the branches and launched herself at him. He heard the sound of the attack just too late to do anything about it. She was already on him, landing on his back with the kunai point severing his spinal cord at the neck. He was dead before he hit the tree branch he was on.

Jirobou handled his own target easily enough, and now they were in control. There was no point in waiting anymore; their remaining targets were the easiest. Moving around faster, they got in front of the daimyo and look-alike, then appeared suddenly on the path.

The Rain Daimyo stopped suddenly, almost having a heart attack at their sudden appearance. “What the- who are you?”

“The last people you will ever see,” Jirobou stated, grimly. “You will not be allowed to jeopardize Suna's safety.”

“My balls we won't,” the Amekage look-alike said, taking a step back and looking into the trees. “Danzo, Hiro, get them!”

Several moments past, and nothing happened.

“I'm afraid your friends have already been taken care of,” Jirobou said. “Now, you get only the fate you have brought upon yourselves.”

The daimyo's eyes widened. “N-no! Wait a minute! Can't we just ta-ggrrghgr!”

Jirobou had disappeared, only to reappear in front of him with a kunai cutting into the man's jugular a second later. Sonya, too, moved in unison with her boss and ended up behind the Amekage look-alike, cutting his throat as well.

Everything was silent now, the dead bodies lying motionlessly in pools of blood. Jirobou let out a long breath. “Glad that's taken care of... now, let's dispose of the bodies and get back to Suna.”

What they didn't realize, however, was that they were being watched. There was a fifth presence, separate from the other four they had killed. Not even they could detect it. This man was a ghost to them, but he did not act. No, he waited, watched. He did not move until Sonya and Jirobou had left. When they were gone, he came out from the surrounding forest, walked the center of the road, and continued on to Ame.
