History

Maya and her family moved from town to town affraid that the civil war was still going on in the hidden mist village, it wasn't until a fellow farmer noticed her father and told her family that the war had ended. The family had a good welcoming back and by that, their was no negative vibes geting off when they past other people who knew of their special ability. Not wanting to become a farmer or fisherman, Maya opted to join in the ninja academy and was viewed a good idea buy her father and was signed up to particiapte in the next school year to start her classses. Maya dind't really have the brains in the class room but was a force to be delt with on the sparing grounds and for that, she was accepted by her peers. Time slowly past along with the years Maya spent in the ninja academy. She past at the age of 12 but could of past sonner if her fighting skills matched the needed knowledge to graduate.

Maya was given prasie for her combat skills on the training grounds of the mist village quickly gainning the respect of every single genin and some chunin. Maya was chosen as team captain and vetoed the suggestion of the team entering the chunin exam. Maya had the team wait until everybody was on par with Maya's taijutsu skill meaning the team spent three years preparing them selves for the the chuunin exam. The team finally entered the exam sweeping all the other genin recieving the title of chunin.

As a chunin, Maya's team was given the opportunity to join an elite task force of the mist village learning new jutsu's in the process. The team was handed high level missions meaning death was always surronding the squard. On one mission, the team was given an escort mission but was set up by the vip in which most of the squad was killed off including Mya's original team mates. Maya went in a period of depression declaring to her self and others that she would never become a ninja unless her village needed her.

That time came when the number of ninja academy students greatly increased resulting a demand for higher level ninja to keep the ratio balanced causing Maya to return to the life of a ninja. She was trained by the highest ranking ninja in the village preparing her self for the jounin exams few ever manage to pass. Maya passed the exam recieving the rank of Jounin giving her new found motavation.

Hmm, that's konoha, no jounin commanders in kiri. Also, most jounin commanders are likely still older and more experienced, and would be why their opinion is so greatly valued. Shikamaru's dad is in his forties (not to mention he's a Nara, so super smart)
