History - The Hyuuga clan were one of the founding noble families of Leaf village. The clan itself is said to be the ancestors of the Uchiha clan who possess the bloodline of the Sharingan eye. Each clan member possess the "Byakugan" or "White Eye." When the "Byakugan" is activated, the clan member gains an extra-sensory perception, which gives them penetrating sight and telescopic vision. This allows them to see the internal chakra circulation system in other beings. This vision also grants the member a near 360° view of their surroundings. The higher the skill of the clan member, the further the distance from which they can sense incoming attacks. Unfortunately the vision does have a weakness, a small blindspot that extends outwards from their upper back. Their great powers lead to internal strife within the family. Because the eye grants such a unique and powerful ability, the clan became possessive and over-protective of it. Seeing only the main family as worthy users and inheritors of the eye, the heads of the clan began to place restrictions on those branch family members not in power. What resulted were two Hyuuga lines, the powerful main family who would represent the line, and the branch family who were directed to protect the main family and bear the cursed seal. The cursed seal is placed on the foreheads of branch family members. It serves as a means to protect the secrets of the Hyuuga Byakugan eye. If the branch family member was to ever betray the main family or be killed in battle, the seal would be activated to destroy the body's secrets. Thus forcing the branch family to further bow to the will of the main family.

Description - The Byakugan is an eye technique that naturally occurs in members of the Hyuga clan. Byakugan users are characterized by their lavender, pupil-less eyes. When the Byakugan is activated, their pupils somewhat appear and the veins near their temples bulge. Possessors of the Byakugan are also capable of using the Gentle Fist style of combat. A person with the Byakugan has a nearly 360 degree field of vision, except for a small blind spot at the back of the neck above the third vertebrate. Byakugan users can detect anything around them within a small radius, the greater the users skill with the Byakugan the larger the radius is, which makes them close-range combat experts. Neji Hyuga manages to increase the radius from 50 meters to over 800 meters during the timeskip. The Byakugan also gives the user the ability to see through basically any matter over extremely long distances. A small degree of telescopic vision is also present, as a Byakugan user can focus on a single object at any point within their range of vision. The degree of focus seems to be dependent on the skill of the user. The Byakugan's insight capacity makes it useful for searching, tracking, and identifying targets. The Byakugan also grants an additional 3 to Overall Genjutsu Rating when perceiving Genjutsu, but not when casting.

Description - Bhile the Byakugan is active, a Hyuuga can perform Jyuuken, which must be known to use any Hyuuga jutsus. While fighting, they release blasts of chakra to either damage the internal organs, or to close off Tenketsu. This also allows them to send chakra out from any part of their body. It takes a lot of practice to be able to use this skillfully, however.

Description - is a Taijutsu technique unique to the Hyuuga bloodline using the Jyuuken. Kaiten is a special technique passed down through the main family line. Kaiten takes advantage of several of the unique abilities of the Byakugan eye. Byakugan gives the clan member an almost complete 360 degree view of their surroundings. This allows the member to see all angles of attack. If an attack is near, the clan member will release a large of amount of chakra from their tenketsu. The member then begins to spin like a top, creating a whirling vortex that can nullify almost any attack. Can block B-Rank attacks and below. Requires Gentle Fist.

Description - This is a Taijutsu technique unique to the Hyuuga bloodline. Hakke Rokujuuyonshou is a special technique passed down through the main family line. When an opponent is within the clan members divination field of attack, they can quickly begin their assault. The technique allows the clan member to use the Byakugan eye to see the inner chakra coils system. Using the Jyuuken style, they can force their chakra through their hands into the tenketsu of the opponent's body through 126 strikes. First the clan member will strike 2 times, then 4, 8, 16, 32 and finally 64. This damage forceably closes 64 tenketsu, stopping the chakra flow of the opponent. This then limits their opponents ability to use jutsu. Prevents the victim from using B-Rank jutsus and above that require chakra. Requires Gentle Fist.

Description - An advanced form of Eight Trigrams 64 palms, it adds an extra strike, close 64 more in one blow, sealing off about a third of the users tenketsu, severly limiting the user of chakra. Prevents the victim from using C-Rank jutsus and above that require chakra. Requires Gentle Fist.

Description - This is a Taijutsu technique developed by Hyuuga Hinata. During the period after the Chuunin Exam, Hinata pushed herself harder than ever before. During this time she improved her chakra control and developed her own style within the Hyuuga bloodline abilities. She practiced the technique around water to hone it to perfection. Utilizing the Hakke Rokujuuyonshou style, Hinata uses her natural flexibility and her precise chakra control to create an absolute defense. The user will emit chakra from their palms and move her arms in sweeping pattern movements to provide a full 360 degree range of protection for their body. This chakra will be also be able to cut through most any target which dares penetrate the protective sphere. By expelling a sharper, stronger and more flexible amount of chakra, the user can increase it's effectiveness against more massive incoming objects. Requires Gentle Fist.

Description - The user forms two large lion-shaped shrouds of chakra around their hands, then attacks the opponent with them. Though its full power was not shown in the manga, in the anime, it was shown that this technique has enough power to destroy Pain's chakra rods, as well as momentarily stunning the target after the attack lands.
