Cathedral of the Shounin

A long ago abandoned cathedral that now rests in a no man's land. Most worshipers have long since abandoned this location, leaving only the truly faithful to wander its halls. As the main door is opened you see a long chapel-like room, with pews and chairs adorning the sides of the room. At the end of the room is a pulpit, where priests and clergy used to make their announcements to the believers. The entire building is lined with cobwebs, dark markings, half lit candles that give the dimmest glow, and ancient books and scrolls. To any who do not believe, walking in gives them nothing but a sense or horror and fear. To those who do believe, it is the warmest of feeling of safety. The second floor is lined with several rooms for those who keep the building alive, The Shounin. Each member has their own room with which they are allowed to customize to their own personal taste. On the final floor though, there is one room for the High Priest to rest and pray, waiting for the message to be sent from his master.

Miyako Akiyama	Aki felt her eye twitch. "I did not cook anything," she spoke. All she had done was grab a plate of prepared rice balls from the fridge. "Do not mistake me for some neutered housewife who will cook and clean for you. I would sooner tear your spine out your anus." She turned her head and spat, then slowly sat down next to Itami, glaring a hole through Susano'o. She was nobody's hussy, and the sooner he realized that, the sooner they would get along. He shouldn't let the transparent top and no bra fool him... that was merely for the sake of distraction, which she found worked stupidly often against male foes.

Chishio Itami	After a long explanation and discussion with Susano'o, they were finally able to convey to him everything that he needed to understand. Who had spoken to him, who was calling on him for help, and who he would serve and help as the cleansing came to pass. Once that discussion ended, Itami decided that it would be best to allow their new Brother to rest, after all he had only just barely escaped his village. After escorting him to his room, Itami told him where they would be if he needed anything. As he closed the door to the room, Itami moved around the cathedral until he found Aki. He walked over to her before giving a tiny bow. "Forgive him Aki, he has gone through a rough time as of late. He will come around once he understands all that we know", he said before looking up and smiling at her. "Thank you for being patient with him"

Miyako Akiyama	Aki merely shrugged when Itami returned. "I will do whatever is necessary for the service of our god," she stated, tapping her fingers gently on the table she was leaning against. "Whatever he asks, whatever you ask, I will follow without question. Such is the loyalty I feel for both of you." She let out a sigh and stood straighter, then took her own turn to bow. "Forgive me if I gave the impression that I was impatient."

Chishio Itami	"Do not worry, I know that you are loyal without fault. I was only able to read your frustration because I have been able to get to know you these past few months", Itami said as he moved over to lean against the same table that Aki was leaning against. "Despite our enlightened state, we are all still human after all", he said as he turned to look at Aki. "I truly wouldn't have it any other way though. Being able to help man kind......we're going to save the world for Our Beloved, and for all our fellow believers"

Miyako Akiyama	Aki let out a long breath again and held her arms across her chest. She took several steps forward to the broken stained glass window and peered out into the barren night beyond. "It is a shame, though, that it is far too late to save so many. It seems that most the world are non-believers, and I fear they will not accept our God when he is realized. The world will be crippled for a long time... but then it will be our job to rebuild it."

Chishio Itami	As Aki moved towards the window to look out into the night sky, Itami realized just how dark it had gotten. With his long conversation with their new Brother, he hadn't realized how much time had passed. As he listened to Aki he began to light up a few candles around the room. "Yes, the world will be in a state of repait. But that worry and that damage will allow any future inhabitants to be humbled enough to realize that the Beloved will help them through all hard times if they have faith", he said as he lit the last candle. "All of us Shounin will oversee this new and beautiful world"

Miyako Akiyama	Aki nodded slowly, then moved over to a chair and sat down quietly. She took in another deep breath and let it out calmly, then looked back up to Itami. "I, too, look forward tot he task of rebuilding this world according to our God's will. So long as I am there with you, then I feel as though I can accomplish anything... that we can accomplish anything. I only pray that we can be successful... to fail, it does not seem like a viable outcome."

Chishio Itami	"Your words have always been able to help me find peace, even on a cold night such as this", Itami said as he moved over and placed a hand on Aki's shoulder. "As long as we Shounin continue to lean on each other........as long as you and I continue to lean on one another. There will never be anything in our way that we can't accomplish", he said as he smiled at her. "The Beloved led you to me, and as his servant I will make sure that we succeed, and you get to see the beautiful world that you dream of. A world without liars, murderers, or those willing to sacrifice brave men", he said as he squeezed his shoulder. "I know you miss him........but I thank you for putting all your strength into our cause. It is one of your most attractive features. You are an amazing individual Aki, myself and the Beloved know that without any doubt"

Miyako Akiyama	Aki smiled slightly, bringing a hand up to rest on Itami's when he put it on her shoulder. "You flatter me too much," she said with a chuckle. "I am but a loyal servant, nobody special." Her demeanor became a bit more somber moments later, and she pulled her hand back again, then stood up. Aki sighed, walking over to her nightstand and pulling her top off. She hung it up on the hook next to the stand and then removed her necklace, placing it down. Leaning forward, she hunched over a bit and hung her head, eyes closed. "I do miss him, though... when I think about what they did to him, I... it makes me happy to know that soon we'll be able to change things, so that nothing like that happens to anyone else again."

Chishio Itami	Itami's eyes became confused as Aki said that she was nobody special. "Nobody special?", he repeated. "Aki, you misjudge your own decisions, the strength and integrity of what you did", Itami said seriously. "I was the son of the last prophet, I've grown up with this all my life. It was natural for me to believe. But you? You were once a non believer, you heard the voice and chose to accept the call. I believe that in that way you might be stronger than I. Who knows where I would be if I had not been born into this calling?", Itami asked. As she moved to speak of her brother, Itami gave a soft sigh. He knew that Aki losing her brother was hard enough, but to learn about how it had happened.......no one should have to face that. He moved over and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I'm certain that the Beloved is taking care of him for you, and right now he watches over you......cheering you on Aki"

Miyako Akiyama	"Perhaps..."Aki breathed, glancing off to the side. "At least, I can only hope. If he is with our God, then I know that he is happy. He would have to be... and being happy with our God is better than being miserable here on this world." She smiled slightly and then gave Itami's hand another pat, before moving from him and throwing herself onto her bed. Rolling over onto her back, she let out a long sigh and brought her hands up to her face, pressing her palms to her eyes. "Ugh... today has been exhausting," she muttered. "I am glad it's almost over."\ I could use a recharge."

Chishio Itami	"Perhaps, but with our efforts we will be able to make everyone happy one day. I believe your brother would like that, I know that my parents would", Itami said as a tiny smile came to his face. "I have to admit, I still miss them some days, mainly on days like this. I can't tell you how many times my father would come out of that room after days of rituals, Mother and I would always be happy to see him", he said before shaking his head. It wasn't what he wanted to talk about right now. "You have been training quite hard for the past few days, judging from the sounds I heard that is", Itami added as he thought back to all the noises. There were still a few pieces of shattered dummies around as well. "I think that I'm going to go take a rest myself. Is there anything that you need of me before I depart though?"

Miyako Akiyama	"Nothing that I can think of," Aki said, taking her hands away and looking up at him. From her perspective, lying down as she was, she could just barely see him over the two bare mounds of flesh siting comfortably like pillows on her chest. She found it to be a somewhat humorous angle. "Just continue to lead us as you always have, that is all I need."

Chishio Itami	Itami just smiled and gave a polite bow. "Than I bid thee good night Aki, may the Heavens watch over you as you rest this night. I will see thee in the morning", Itami said with a smile before turning and slowly making his way to his own room. Aki's clothing attire had caught him off guard at first, but he had come to realize that it was merely a part of who she was. Aki was a great woman, and he was lucky to have someone as enlightened as her on his side. With a smile on his face, Itami slowly moved into his room. "Dearest Beloved", Itami began to speak after removing his priest robe. "Grant me on this night that I may be well by morning. That you will watch over me and my friends, your servants, as we all rest from a long day", Itami said before getting on his knees and bowing in prayer at the foot of his bed. "Bless our new Brother Susano'o, that he will be able to rise up as a shining star in this order, that he will be able to hear you and honor you well. Please bless Aki on this night that she will be rewarded for her dilligence and faith, please let her know that her Brother is with you and is happy. Grant her peace", Itami said softly. "And please bless me with the strength, courage, and faith to continue in our task. In the name of the Beloved, Amen", Itami said with a smile on his face. He was beginning to feel better already. Itami moved into his bed, and rested comfortably. His sleeping attire was nothing but leather pants, which were able to keep him warm despite the damaged construction of the Cathedral. The Priest reflected on the day's proceedings before closing his eyes, and slowly allowing sleep to embrace him.

Miyako Akiyama	Aki was up before dawn. She began her early morning training before even getting dressed, occupying the main exercise hall on the top floor of the cathedral. Three hours of beating dummies later, she was gleaming in sweat and finally starting to get tired. Just as the sun was coming up, she grabbed a towel from her dresser and headed through the cathedral naked outside. It was a bit nippy out, but she was used to it. The walk wasn't too long, anyway. A few minutes down the path through the woods and she came out to the bubbling hot springs. Setting the towel down next tot he nearest spring, she quickly slipped straight into the hot water and let out a long sigh of relief, relaxing calmly.

Chishio Itami	Much like Aki, Itami's days started extremely early. Despite his fatigue from the previous day Itami found himself waking up early. He was leaning towards making another attempt to fall asleep, but quickly found that this was not going to be possible. "Curses", he muttered to himself as he felt the stinging pain in his side. His wound from yesterday appeared to not be sitting well, which meant that it was time to visit the Springs. The Springs was an extremely sacred location to the Shounin and all those who believed. To those who studied the scriptures, it was said that those with the correct faith could be miraculously healed in these springs, while enemies would not feel anything but water. Normally right after Itami's rituals, he'd make a visit. Susano'os sudden appearance however made Itami a little later, causing him to need to go today. He quickly grabbed a simple towel and made his way outside. He had gotten in and comfortable by the time that Aki arrived. Itami didn't see her for he was in a different spring, but he could assume who it was as he heard someone approaching. After all, Susano'o was not informed of this place yet. He would be soon enough though. "Good Morning Aki", Itami called out to her as he felt the pain in his side beginning to fade as the water took effect.

Miyako Akiyama	Aki glanced up as she heard her name being spoken. "Ah, Itami," she said, leaning forward. She could see him now sitting in the adjacent spring. "I didn't realize you were already here. Give me a moment." Standing up, she swiftly stepped out of her current spring and made her way to Itami's. She seated herself across from him and rested against the edge. "Good morning," she greeted, nodding to him. Yawning slightly, she stretched out her legs beneath the water and breathed outwardly. "These springs are truly a wonder."

Chishio Itami	Itami opened his eyes as Aki moved from her own spring to his, making the transition with apparently no second's thought. Perhaps something was on her mind? Or perhaps she just wanted to chat without yelling across from one another. "I see that you are up as early as ever", Itami said before submerging his head once into the water and rising quickly from it, wiping the water from his eyes as he did so. "I do hope that you slept well? You did mention that you were exhausted last night after all"

Miyako Akiyama	Aki nodded, propping her elbows back up against the edge of the spring and breathed out deeply. "I did, thank you. I do not usually require much sleep to fully recharge my body... several hours is plenty to relieve my exhaustion." She gave a small smile, then glanced down at where the wounds from his rituals would be. "And how about your latest... sacrifice? Is it healing well?"

Chishio Itami	Itami gave a nod as she explained how she had rested. "Yes, now that you mention it I don't believe that I have ever seen you wake up and still seem tired. A night's rest always seems to put you back in action, as they say", Itami spoke before glancing down at his wound. "Why yes it is, thank you. I should have taken care of it yesterday, but it was more important to have Susano'o hear what he needed to hear. I take it he's still resting from his long journey", Itami remarked before glancing at Aki and smiling once again. "We'll have to tell him about this place later, I'm sure he of all people could appreciate it"

Miyako Akiyama	Aki frowned a little, then folding her hands across her chest. "Yes, I suppose we will have to... though it is a shame. I liked having this private spot with just the two of us. I'm almost not looking forward to sharing it." She scratched the side of her head briefly before shrugging and breathing outward. "Oh well, it cannot be avoided in any case. For now, I shall enjoy the springs while they are still ours alone."

Chishio Itami	Itami saw how Aki reacted to this news. He thought about it for a moment. "You know, just because he knows about it doesn't mean that we all need to be here at the same time. If these are times that you enjoy, I will make time for this to be a part of our day", Itami suggested. "Even if it means that I must wake up another hour or two early. If it is important to you, than I will do my best to see it done", Itami said sincerely. "After all, I always told myself that I would never share a spring with a naked man", he said before letting out a laugh.

Miyako Akiyama	Aki lifted her eyebrows at Itami's suggestion about making their encounters at the springs a routine part of their day. If they did it early enough, they wouldn't have to worry about running into anyone else. She couldn't help but smile and nod at him. "Yes, I think I would like that," she remarked, then laughing at his final statement. "Better a naked woman than a naked man, hm? Can't blame you."

Chishio Itami	Itami smiled as Aki smiled. He hoped that future members of the Shounin would be as easy to get along with as she was. Aki just made it seem like they had known each other and were fighting for the same cause their whole life. Perhaps future members would feel the same thing? At her laugh he just let out another chuckle of his own. "Yeah, call me biased I guess", he said with another laugh.

Miyako Akiyama	"It is alright," Aki stated, still chucking. "The female form is, after all, much more attractive than the male form. I mean, just look at it... it's gorgeous." She was of course referring to her own form. Laughing again, she exhaled deeply. "I can't allow you to suffer being in the same spring as another. I mean, one is bad enough, but two in the same place? I don't know... that would be difficult on the eyes." She was of course joking. She did in fact find the male form to be quite attractive herself if sculpted the right way, and Itami's was done in very much the right way.
